Details of the Project

READ foundation implements the programme through promotion of SHG (For both male & female) in the dist Nayagarh, Nuapada, Khurda (Banpur Block) & Sundargarh district of Orissa. Beside of Orissa READ Implements this programme in the Raipur dist. of Chhatisgarh & Deogarh of Jharkhanda state. The field activities are carried on through a well-designed network of local NGO & CBO as partner. READ foundation acts as the Nodal Agency & provides capacity building supports like training IEC,MIS, M & E & Liaison with agencies for credit, insurance & enterprises development.

The Objectives of the project are as follows:

  • To promote 500 sustainable SHG during span of 3 years in the identified project area.
  • To provide credit facilities to those poorest of the poor.
  • To provide IG facilities to the male & female of the SHG.
  • To up grade technical skills & market linkage facilities.
  • To restrict mass migration & MIS-utilisation of local resources.
  • To ensure economic as well as social empowerment of male & female and to bring about overall change in their standard of living.

Achievements:

    • A total of 550 SHG has been formed in five districts.
    • All the SHG has opened their bank account.
    • A total 95 nos of SHG has been linked with bank.
    • A total of 32 nos of SHG has been engaged in long term income generation activities.
    • A total 95 has been passed the grade-A test of "Mission Shakti" Programme run by GoO.
    • Our organisation has been selected as NGO member for Nayagarh District Micro Finance Committee in "Mission Shakti" Programme.
    • Received membership from "Micro Finance Campaign Submit" New York. Micro Finance Gateway of U.K.
    • Ten Nos. of SHG from Odagaon has been selected to take up "Dal Processing Unit" through special SGSY programme.
    • Our Organisation has the distinction of feeling up with Alliance-Bajaj like insurance company for introduction "Micro Insurance" for SHG members.
