Bilingual Content Management for Grass-root Organisations
Ever since 1992,the country has adopted neo-liberal economic policy;it has been imperative that civil society makes stringent observation on the governance measures taken by the state from time to time. Website can be a powerful means through which civil actors can post their opinion on government policies by providing constructive critique, alternative insights to safeguard the interest of the poor.
Admittedly, varieties of best practices relating to the community based management system, rural energy, sustainable development practices and local governances can be assessed if NGOs operating at the grassroots both extensively and intensively learn to flag their learning from time to time.
Website can provide learning at an affordable price and quick dispensation. Thus website is a powerful tool of knowledge management and communication.
So far the IT sector ruled by the corporate sector, undervalued the importance of its utility in the grass root sectors for the up-liftment of disadvantaged section of the community. The concept of Ek-Dunia initiated by One World South Asia is to enable NGO's working in the grassroot level to have website in their local language and manage the content without any technical knowledge.
